Currently, more than 10 thousand industrial companies are operating in the UAE, which represents a record growth of over 10% compared to last year. This was announced by the acting Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Omar Al-Suwadi at a press conference held yesterday after signing an agreement on partnership for the fourth edition of the forum.
Al-Suwadi also noted that the next session of the forum "Made in the UAE" will focus on supporting national industry, sustainability of supplies in the country for various sectors, and called on investors to participate in the next session to explore opportunities in the field of investments and local production.
Additionally, it was announced that at the next session, about 150 Emirati manufacturers will participate within the framework of promoting national industry. The committee for industrial development, headed by the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, in partnership with various local and federal organizations, supports the sector and strives to provide the largest number of promotions and financial instruments for industrial companies.
The Minister of Culture of the UAE Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al-Kasimi noted that the forum will for the first time serve as a home for specialized stands of Emirati industrial products and manufacturers, which underlines a part of Emirati identity and contributes to the support and development of these sectors as a key element of national economic policy.
Hamid Al-Zaabi, General Director of Adnoc Group, stated that the forum "Made in the UAE" will bring high-quality changes in the sizes and diversity of industries participating in the events, emphasizing the following rising categories of industries: food and beverage industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, medical technologies, ships and boats, marine industries, manufacturing industry, advanced production, and artificial intelligence.
It is expected that at the next session of the forum, more than 20 thousand visitors will participate, compared to 13 thousand at the last session, and the exhibition space will be increased to 50 thousand square meters, compared to the previous session.
Nakanec, director of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, supported that cooperation with the Ministry of Industry aims to strengthen Abu Dhabi's position as the most competitive industrial point in the region and to strengthen the leading role of the industrial sector in economic diversification, accelerating growth and transition to a sustainable digital economy.
Emirati industrial companies managed to increase production up to 28% last year, while the contribution of the industrial sector to the emirate's gross domestic product increased to 101 billion dirhams, constituting 16.5% of the oil economy. The forum helps attract more companies for investment in Abu Dhabi, increasing the gross domestic product at the expense of the oil sector, making it familiar with investment opportunities, simplifying the process of opening factories in Abu Dhabi and their export to various countries.
